Policy Form:
Policy form varies quite a bit by carrier as forms are often manuscripted - so everything that follows in this section is a "general rule" with exceptions. It is important to review your quote terms carefully. We will soon upload a basic checklist of some (but not all) of the coverage issues that you should look for.

That said, as a general rule, General Liability coverage is written on an Occurrence basis, Contractors Pollution may be written on either an Occurrence or Claims Made Basis and Professional Liability is written on a Claims Made basis. Most carriers offering to move a Contractors Pollution Liability from Claims Made to Occurrence will offer "nose coverage" as it is less expensive than a tail.

Again, as a general rule, most contractors are eligible for Contractors Pollution Liability but the only contractors that are eligible for Commercial General Liability, written through an Environmental market, are environmental contractors. A "dirt contractor", for example, are generally not be eligible for Commercial General Liability written through an Environmental market unless they are working with "dirty dirt" - cleaning up contaminated soils.

Special features provided by the above markets can include provisions such as:
" Removal of "Sudden and Accidental" policy language which creates a true pollution coverage
" Multi-line combo policies on an occurrence and/or claims made basis
" Servpro Corporate Endorsement

Limits:
Most policies are written with limits of $1mil but we can secure limits of as much as $100 mil or more.

Minimum Premiums:
Underground Storage Tanks: As low as $350 each
Most other policies, written monoline or as a package, and regardless of limit: $2,500

Submission Requirements:
Carriers will generally quote, or at least indicate, off of anybody's completed application. By the end of the year, we will upload a complete set of generic and company specific applications for your use. As planned, they will be interactive pdf files that can be printed, emailed to your client for completion, or completed and submitted on line. In the meantime, if you need an application, please email your request, including the coverages needed and a description of the operation to Kim LaMont
